Maryland- Digital Performance Interest Group
Through working with MITH and the Theatre Department I have found that there are tremendous pockets of skill, creativity, and interest in creating digital artistic and performance works here at the University of Maryland. In an effort to pool our technical and creative resources I have suggested meetings for networking with the University Georgia's ICE as a source of inspiration.
As an open forum, members are encouraged to bring materials for presentation and issues to be discussed. Meeting topics include upcoming digital classes, performances/projects, discussion on funding, technology resources and purchasing, as well as envisioning a possibilities for a unified campus digital arts/humanities resource and potential cross-disciplary projects.
In attendance have been members from Women's Studies, Art Studio, Dance, Theatre, and Comparative Literature. Participants include Dan Conway, Mina Cheon, Carmen Coustaut, Nejla Yatkin, Carol Burbank, Carolyn Bain, Brandon Morse, Lenita Reeves, John Fuegi, and Karen Bradley among others. Most of these participants can be found on the On Campus Resources page.
We have been meeting semi-monthly in MITH's conference room at times determined by majority of participant schedules. Please feel free to join us. April/May time TBA. Email me for more information firstname.lastname@example.org.
